Treatment of localised aggressive periodontitis -Still an Enigma !

Periodontal diseases range from the relatively benign gingivitis to chronic & aggressive forms of the disease. It is a rapidly progressing disease associated with specific microflora namely, Actinobacillusactinomycetemcomitans&Porphyromonasgingivalis. LAP is not a very prevalent disease; it does have serious repercussions for those affected. The clinical management of LAP has not received the same intensity of interest as its etiology & pathogenesis, but due to significant impact of LAP, the need for treatment is evident. This article basically deals with the treatment modalities for localized aggressive periodontitis. |
